Membership
- Institutions that wish to benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center under "Package 1" may apply for membership by filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form.
Applicants who are not approved are notified in writing.
Those who are approved begin their membership procedures by submitting a copy of their ID card and one photo, and by paying the membership fee in accordance with the Information Center Membership Fees Document.
Institutions that complete the procedures are given up to 3 ID cards, valid for 1 year and usable simultaneously.
Institutional users who have ID cards may benefit from the services and facilities in accordance with the Information Center Working Hours and the General Rules.
Institutions may change the users benefiting from the Information Center on their behalf twice a year. - Institutional users whose membership period has ended must return their ID cards.
Those who fail to return their cards despite warnings are reported to the relevant institution.
If the cards are not returned within one week, the Security Unit is informed and the users' entry to the University is restricted.
Institutions may re-apply for extension of the membership period or for a package change. - Institutions that are granted membership rights are responsible for problems arising during use.

Reservation times must be respected in order to use the rooms.

- Through the Information Center online catalog, they may access the collections and request assistance related to the use of resources.
Borrowing and Use Facilities
- Trade & Industrial Companies may borrow 6 books for 15 days; unless requested by others, the loan may be renewed once for the same period.
- Loan renewals and reservations of resources can be made via the website. A reminder is sent one week before the due date. For resources returned after the due date, procedures are applied in accordance with the "Overdue Fines Document", and borrowing services are suspended until the fine is paid. Overdue fines are not applied for periods when the Information Center is closed.
- Information resources not returned within 60 days after the due date are considered "lost".
- For lost or damaged resources, procedures are applied in accordance with the Lost and Damaged Information Resources Document, and borrowing services are suspended until the procedures are completed. Upon request, the damaged item may be given to the user.
- Resources claimed to have been returned but not found are reported to the Administration. The user cannot benefit from borrowing services until the final decision of the Administration.
- The groups who may benefit from membership services and the annual membership fees are updated when necessary and implemented upon the approval of the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs.
- Resources on loan that are requested for the reserve collection may be recalled even if the loan period has not expired. They must be returned within 10 days before the semester begins, and within 3 days during the semester. For items not returned on time, procedures are applied in accordance with the "Overdue Fines Document", and borrowing services are suspended until the fine is paid.

- They may use the following collections only within the Information Center:
- "Reference Collection",
- "Serials Collection" (the collection of current and back issues),
- "Multimedia Collection", which requires special arrangement due to its format.
- They may use the following materials within the Information Center and borrow them:
Document Delivery
- Trade & Industrial Companies may request documents not available in the Information Center collections.
- Requests are made by filling out the "Document Delivery / ILL Request Form".
- Procedures are carried out in accordance with the "Document Delivery Fees Document". Documents are delivered after the fees are paid.
- Requests with incomplete bibliographic information are cancelled and reported.
- The requester is notified when the document arrives. For documents not collected within one week, a second reminder is sent and the Administration is informed.
- Until the fees are paid, they cannot benefit from borrowing services; the document is destroyed and new requests are not accepted.
- The users who may benefit from the document delivery service and the fees to be applied are updated annually and when necessary, and implemented upon the approval of the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs.

Attention: Even if they are members of the Information Center, our alumni cannot access the Information Center's electronic resources from outside the campus due to the licensing agreements with database providers. Our alumni can only use the Project MUSE and SAGE databases, which are included in our database list and provide open access.
Membership
- With the ID card provided by the University, they acquire "the right to membership to use the services and facilities within the Information Center" and
may benefit from the services and facilities in accordance with the "Information Center Working Hours and General Rules". - Those who also wish to benefit from borrowing services may do so by filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form and
paying the annual membership fee in accordance with the Information Center Membership Fees Document,
thereby acquiring "the right to use services and borrowing facilities".
The same procedure applies to alumni who are SUMED members, and they pay one third of the membership fee. - In order for our alumni to apply for membership, their student accounts must be closed,
all books and materials must be returned, and they must have no outstanding obligations. - Users whose annual membership period has expired may apply for renewal.
- The memberships of those who do not comply with the usage rules, which allow them to borrow information resources, are cancelled.
Subsequent applications are not accepted for 1 year.
Reference and Information
- They may benefit from orientation programs prepared for introductory and informational purposes and may request special-purpose orientation programs.

Borrowing and Use
- They may borrow 2 books for 30 days,
1 bound periodical for 7 days,
and 1 multimedia item for 3 days, and unless requested by others, renew them once. - For overdue and incompletely returned information resources, procedures are applied in accordance with the Overdue Fines Document, and borrowing services cannot be used until the fine is paid.
- They may use the Reference Collection and current periodicals only within the Information Center.
- They may use the Rare Collection under supervision.
- Recall is applied in the following cases.
Books that are urgently needed are recalled as described below.
If the book was borrowed more than 2 weeks ago, it must be returned within 1 week at the latest after the recall message is sent;
if the book was borrowed within the last 2 weeks, it must be returned within 10 days at the latest after the recall message is sent. - Borrowed multimedia resources may be recalled even if the loan period has not yet expired. If the item is returned late, fine procedures are applied.
- For the reserve collection, information resources requested before the semester begins must be returned within 10 days, and those requested during the semester within 3 days. For information resources not returned, fine procedures are applied in accordance with the Overdue Fines Document.
- For lost or damaged information resources, procedures are applied in accordance with the Lost and Damaged Information Resources and Multimedia Equipment Document.
Borrowing services cannot be used until the process is completed.
Damaged information resources may be taken back by the user after their cost is paid. - Information resources claimed to have been returned but not found are reported to the Information Center Administration.

Use of Multimedia and Group Study Rooms
- Alumni who are members of the Information Center may request reservations for multimedia and group study rooms at the Circulation Desk.
Reservation times must be respected.
Reservations are cancelled if the user is more than 15 minutes late. - Keys and remote controls for multimedia and group study rooms are loaned in a bag.
For overdue equipment, fine procedures are applied in accordance with the Overdue Fines Document, and borrowing services cannot be used until the fine is paid.
For those who do not pay, "the right to use services and borrowing facilities" is cancelled and subsequent applications are not accepted for 1 year. - For lost or damaged keys / equipment, procedures are applied in accordance with the Lost and Damaged Information Resources and Multimedia Equipment Document.

Please read the explanations below carefully before filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form.
Membership
- Students of high schools with which our University has a cooperation agreement may apply for membership in order to benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center.
Applicants who are not approved for membership are notified.
Approved students are given a temporary identification and entry card and are entitled to benefit from these services until they graduate from their high school, provided that the membership is renewed every year, and
they may benefit from the services and facilities in accordance with the Information Center General Rules. - Students whose membership period has expired must return their ID cards.
The school principals of students who do not return their ID cards despite warnings are informed.
If the cards are not returned within one week, the Sabancı University Security Department is informed and these students are not allowed to enter the University. - If students do not comply with the rules, the permission given to the student concerned to use the services is cancelled.
Subsequent membership applications are not accepted for 1 year. - Due to licensing agreements, they cannot access electronic resources from outside the campus.
- They may benefit from the services and facilities on-site by coming to the Information Center.
