Trade and Industrial Companies can utilize from the services and facilities through the package memberships. The utilizing facilities are shown as below:

In order to benefit from services and facilities of the Information Center, industrial companies should fill out the Membership and Usage Request Form in line with the package selected. The membership applications of industrial companies which are found appropriate will benefit from the services and facilities for a period of 1 year after paying the yearly membership fee.
Membership
Trade and Industrial Companies that want to utilize the services and facilities provided by the Information Center, may apply for membership by filling out the "Information Center Registration Form" within working hours on weekdays. Those, who are not regarded as appropriate for membership, are notified.
The ones, who are regarded as appropriate, start their membership process by submitting a photocopy of their ID card, a photo, and by paying their membership fees in accordance with the "Membership Fees Document".
Institutions that complete the necessary processes are given a maximum of 5 simultaneously useable ID cards with an expiration period of 1 year.
Institutional users who have ID cards can utilize the services and opportunities in accordance with the "Information Center General Rules Document ".
Institutional users the membership period of whom has expired, have to return their ID cards. Related institutions are notified of institutional users who do not return their ID cards despite warnings. If the cards are not returned within a week, Security Unit is informed, and these users are not allowed to enter the University.
Institutions may apply for the prolongation of their membership period.
Problems that may occur during the use of services are under the responsibility of the institutions that are given the right of being a member.
The permission given to institutions related to using the services is cancelled if their users do not obey the rules pertaining to services, and the membership fees are not paid back. Their later applications for membership are not accepted for 3 years.
Those who can utilize the services, and the yearly membership fees are determined by the "Information Center Advisory Board " before the first day of each year, and theseinstructions are applied upon the approval of the President.
Reference Services
Trade and Industrial Companies can utilize the orientation programs.
They can have access to the collections of the Information Center via Primo, which is the online catalog of information that is made available for access by the Information Center; and they can request help related to the use of resources.
Borrowing Facilities
Trade and Industrial Companies may borrow 6 books for 15 days, and unless they are requested by others, they can be renewed once again for the same period.
Processes related to the renewal of borrowed items and reserving information resources can be done over the web site.
For information resources, a reminder is sent to the user a week before the due date. Fine processes are applied to those which are returned later than the due date, in compliance with "Overdue Fines Document", and borrowing services shall not be available until the fine is paid. Overdue fines are not applied to periods when the Information Center is closed.
Information resources that are not returned within 60 days after the due date are considered as "lost".
For information resources that are lost or damaged, fine processes are applied in accordance with the "Document for Lost and Damaged Information Resources", and borrowing services shall not be available until these processes are completed. Upon request, the possession of the damaged item may be given to the user.
Administration is informed of information resources that are claimed to be returned but not found in their places. The user cannot utilize the borrowing services until the final decision of Administration.
Limits and periods for borrowing, fines for overdues and rules for lost or damaged information resources are determined by the "Information Center Advisory Board" before the first day of each year, and applied upon the approval of the President.
Return of information resources which are requested to be put in the reserve collection but are already borrowed may be requested even if the borrowing period is not over. If it is before the beginning of the semester, it should be returned within 10 days, during the semester should be returned within 3 days. For those information resources that are not returned within the requested time, fine processes are applied in compliance with the "Overdue Fines Document". Borrowing services shall not be available until the fine is paid.
Services related to borrowing and utilizing the collections are conducted as follows:

They may both use the following items within the Information Center and borrow them:
"General Collection" which is organized in an open-shelf system,
"Ovesize Collection" which is kept in a different place due to the size of the information sources, -
They may utilize:
"Rare Collection" which consists of rare information sources, only within the Information Center and under supervision.
Electronic magazines and databases are open to in-campus access 24 hours a day. They cannot have access to them from outside the campus. -
They may utilize the following collections only within the Information Center:
"Reference Collection" which is organized for reference purposes,
"Serials Collection" which is a collection of current and back issues of journals
"Multimedia Collection" which requires a special arrangement due to its format.
Document Supply
Trade and Industrial Companies may request documents that are not available in the collections of Information Center.
Requests are made by filling out the "Document Delivery / ILL Request Form" over the web site.
Processes are maintained in accordance with "Document Supply Fees Document". Documents are delivered after the document fees are paid.
Requests with incomplete bibliographic data are cancelled and reported.
When the document arrives, request owner is notified. For documents not taken by the request owner within a week, a second notice is sent, and reported to the administration.
They shall not be able to utilize the borrowing services until the fees are paid, the document shall be destroyed and new requests for any document supply shall not be accepted.
The users who will benefit from document supply service and fees to be applied for the documents are determined by the "Information Center Advisory Board" before the first day of every year and applied upon the approval of the President.

Membership

- Those who are approved begin their membership procedures by submitting a copy of their ID card and one photo, and by paying the membership fee in accordance with the Information Center Membership Fees Document .

- Users who have ID cards may benefit from the services and facilities in accordance with the Information Center Working Hours and the General Rules Document .
- Institutions may change the users benefiting on their behalf twice a year.
- Users whose membership period has ended must return their ID cards. Those who fail to return the card despite warnings are reported to the relevant Institution. If it is not returned within one week, the Security Unit is informed and their entry to the University is restricted.
- Institutions may re-apply for extension of the membership period or for package changes.
- Institutions that are granted membership rights are responsible for problems arising during use.
- If users of an institution do not comply with the usage rules, the institution’s permission to benefit is cancelled and membership fees are not refunded. Subsequent applications are not accepted for 3 years.
- The groups who may benefit from membership services and the annual membership fees are determined each year by the Information Center Advisory Board , and implemented upon the approval of the Rector.
- They may request general orientation programs introducing services and facilities.
- They may request support for accessing information and documents.
- They may submit information requests in writing, verbally, or electronically. Requests are answered or reported within 24 hours.
- Through Primo , they can access the Information Center collections and request assistance.
- Institutions wishing to benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center under "Package 2" may apply for membership by filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form.
- Applicants who are not approved are notified in writing.
- Applicants who are approved begin their membership procedures by submitting a photocopy of their ID card and one photograph, and by paying the membership fee in accordance with the Information Center Membership Fees Document.

- They may request support for access to information and documents.
- They may submit any kind of information request in writing, verbally, or electronically. Requests are answered or reported within 24 hours.
- Through Primo, the online catalog prepared by the Information Center, they may access the collections and request assistance related to use.
- Borrowing Services
- Package 2 users may use the publications on-site and may also borrow 6 books for a period of 30 days, and unless requested by others, may renew once for the same period.
- The services related to using the collections and borrowing are conducted as follows:
- They may use and, with the ID card issued on behalf of the institution, borrow from the "Book Collection" and "Oversize Book Collection". Those without ID cards cannot borrow.
- They may not use the "Faculty Reserve Collection", "Student Reserve Collection" and "Slide Collection" within the Information Center.
- They may use the "Reference Collection", "Serials Collection" and "Multimedia Collection" only within the Information Center.
- They may use the "Rare Collection" only within the Information Center and under supervision.
- Electronic journals and databases are accessible 24 hours a day within the campus. They cannot access these resources from outside the campus.
- They may request extensions or reservations for borrowable resources in the "Book Collection" and "Oversize Book Collection" at the Reference Desk.
- Reminder messages are sent for materials approaching the due date (except those from the "Multimedia Collection"), and warning messages are sent for overdue ones. Penalties are applied in accordance with the Overdue Fines Document, and borrowing services are suspended until payment is made. Institutions that do not pay lose their usage rights and membership fees are not refunded. Subsequent applications are not accepted for 3 years. No fines are charged during periods when the Information Center is necessarily closed.
- Items borrowed but requested for the reserve collection may be recalled even if the due date has not yet expired. Items requested before the semester must be returned within 10 days; during the semester, within 3 days. For items not returned, the “one-day reserve item fine” stated in the Overdue Fines Document is applied. Borrowing is suspended until payment is made.
- For lost or damaged information resources, procedures are applied in accordance with the Lost and Damaged Information Resources and Multimedia Equipment Document, and borrowing services are suspended until completion.
- Items claimed to have been returned but not found are reported to the Information Center Administration. Institutions cannot benefit from borrowing services until the Administration’s decision.
Users benefiting from this package may benefit from the services and facilities below only on-site.
- They may access electronic journals, review articles, send articles to any e-mail address, or obtain printed copies for a fee.
- They may search databases on any subject, view the results, send articles to any e-mail address, or obtain printed copies for a fee.
- They may review printed journals and obtain printed copies of articles for a fee.
- They may request reservations for multimedia / group study rooms and carrels at the Reference Desk. Reservations must be respected; reservations are cancelled if the user is more than 15 minutes late.
- Keys for multimedia, projection and group study rooms, as well as headphones, video/DVD players and TV remotes to be used in carrels, are loaned in a bag. For late returns, penalties are applied in accordance with the Overdue Fines Document, and services cannot be used until payment is made.
- For lost or damaged keys/equipment, procedures are applied in accordance with the Lost and Damaged Information Resources and Multimedia Equipment Document, and services cannot be used until completion.
- They cannot benefit from domestic or international document delivery services.
- They cannot benefit from domestic or international interlibrary loan services.
- By paying the applicable fee and in accordance with copyright regulations, they may benefit from photocopying and other reproduction services.
Membership
- Institutions wishing to benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center under "Package 3" may apply for membership by filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form .
- Those who are not approved are notified in writing.

Users benefiting from this package may benefit from the following services and facilities:
- By coming to the Information Center:
- Access to electronic journals; database searches; e-mailing or obtaining printed copies for a fee.
- Review of printed journals and obtaining printed copies for a fee.
- Without coming to the Information Center:
- Unlimited article requests from electronic journals; database searches and results from Sabancı University collections.
- Photocopy requests (for a fee, in line with copyright rules) from printed materials.
- Reservations for multimedia / group rooms and carrels may be made at the Reference Desk. Reservations are cancelled if the user is more than 15 minutes late.
- Keys and equipment are loaned in a bag; penalties apply according to the Overdue Fines Document .
- Lost/damaged equipment follows the procedure in the Lost and Damaged Information Resources and Multimedia Equipment Document .
- They cannot benefit from domestic or international document delivery services.
- They cannot benefit from domestic or international interlibrary loan services.

Membership (Faculty members only)
- Only the faculty members of universities with which a protocol has not been signed may apply for individual membership by filling out the "Information Center Registration Form".
- Those who are not regarded as appropriate for membership are notified.
- The ones who are regarded as appropriate start their membership process by submitting a photocopy of their ID card, a photo, and by paying their membership fee in accordance with the "Membership Fees Document".
- Members of other universities who complete the above-mentioned processes are given their ID cards with an expiration period of 1 year, and these users can utilize the services and facilities in accordance with the "Information Center General Rules Document".
- Those users whose membership periods have expired have to return their ID cards. The Security Unit is informed of users who do not return their cards despite warnings, and these users are not allowed to enter the University.
- Users whose membership periods come to an end may apply for the prolongation of their membership period.

Membership
- To benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center, applications can be made during regular weekday working hours by filling out the Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form.
- Applicants who are not approved will be notified in writing.
- Applicants who are approved are granted daily access permission and may benefit from the services and facilities of the Information Center in accordance with the “Information Center Working Hours and General Rules Document.”
- Those who wish to benefit for a longer period and whose requests are approved begin a 3-month membership by paying the membership fee in accordance with the “Information Center Membership Fees Document”. For users who complete their procedures, an email is sent to the main campus entrance gate including the external user’s name and membership end date, with the user copied on the message.
- When the usage period ends, the ID card must be returned. Those who do not return the card despite warnings are reported to the Security Department and their entry to the University is restricted. Users whose period has expired may apply for renewal.
- Those eligible to benefit from membership services and the annual membership fee are determined each year by the “Information Center Advisory Board,” submitted for approval to the Rector, and then implemented.
Reference and Information Services
Other External Users may benefit from orientation programs prepared for introductory and informational purposes and may request special-purpose orientation programs.
They may submit any kind of information request in writing, verbally, or electronically. Requests are fulfilled or reported within 24 hours.
Through Primo, the online catalog prepared by the Information Center, users can access the Information Center collections and request assistance related to usage.
Borrowing and On-site Use
They may only benefit from services and resources on-site. Information resources cannot be borrowed.
Use of Multimedia, Group Study Rooms, Carrels and Equipment
These services are not available to them.
Document Delivery
They may not request domestic or international document delivery services.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
They may not benefit from domestic or international interlibrary loan services.
Reproduction
By paying the fee, they may use photocopying and other reproduction services in accordance with copyright regulations.
Membership
Public Institutions may apply for membership in order to benefit from the services and facilities by filling out the “Information Center Membership and Usage Request Form” during regular weekday working hours.
Applicants who are not approved are notified in writing.
Applicants who are approved are issued an ID card and granted free access permission for up to two weeks. During this period, they may benefit from the services and facilities in accordance with the “Information Center Working Hours and General Rules Document.”
At the end of the usage period, the ID card must be returned. Those who do not return the card despite warnings are reported to the relevant Institution. If the card is not returned within one week, the Security Unit is informed and the user is denied entry to the University.
Public Institutions whose users’ periods have expired may apply for renewal.
If the users of an Institution do not comply with the usage rules, that Institution’s permission to benefit from the services is cancelled. Subsequent applications are not accepted for 3 years.
The groups who may benefit from membership services are determined each year by the “Information Center Advisory Board” before the beginning of the year and are implemented upon the approval of the Rector.
Reference and Information Services
Public Institutions may benefit from orientation programs prepared for promotional and informational purposes, and may request special orientation programs.
They may submit any kind of information request in writing, verbally, or electronically. Requests are answered or reported within 24 hours.
Through Primo, the online catalog of information prepared for access by the Information Center, they may access the collections and request assistance related to use.
Borrowing and On-site Use
Public Institutions may benefit from the services and facilities only on-site. They cannot borrow information resources.
Use of Multimedia, Group Study Rooms, Carrels and Equipment
They may not use these services.
Interlibrary Loan
Public Institutions may not benefit from domestic or international interlibrary loan services.
Document Delivery
Document supply requests of Public Institutions are limited to the Information Center collection. They may not request domestic or international document delivery.
Reproduction
By paying the applicable fees and in accordance with copyright regulations, they may benefit from photocopying and other reproduction services.
Attention: Due to the licensing agreements with database providers, alumni that has membership registration to the IC do not have access to the electronic resources from outside the campus network. Our alumni can make their research via Project Muse and SAGE databases that allows open access and has in our list.
Membership

- Those who also want to utilize the borrowing facilities, pay yearly membership fee in compliance with the Information Center Membership Fees Document, and acquire "the right to use services and borrowing facilities".

- SU Retired Personnel may borrow 2 books for 30 days, borrow 1 multimedia for 3 days, and unless they are requested by others, they can be renewed once again for the same period.
- They may utilize the following collections within the Information Center only; "Reference Collection" which is organized for reference purposes,"Serials Collection" which is a collection of current and back issues of journals.
- They may utilize; "Rare Collection" which consists of rare information resources.
- Electronic journals and databases are open to in-campus access for 24 hours a day. They cannot have access to them from outside the campus.
- Processes related to the renewal of borrowed items and reserving information resources can be done over the web site.
- For information resources, a reminder is sent to the user a week before the due date. Fine processes are applied to those which are returned later than the due date, in compliance with Overdue Fines Document, and borrowing services shall not be available until the fine is paid. Overdue fines are not applied to periods when the Information Center is closed.
- Return of information resources which are requested to be put in the reserve collection but are already borrowed may be requested even if the borrowing period is not over. If it is before the beginning of the semester, it should be returned within 10 days, during the semester should be returned within 3 days. For those information resources that are not returned within the requested time, fine processes are applied in compliance with the Overdue Fines Document. Borrowing services shall not be available until the fine is paid.
- For information resources that are lost or damaged, fine processes are applied in accordance with the "Document for Lost and Damaged Information Resources", and borrowing services shall not be available until these processes are completed. Upon request, the possession of the damaged item may be given to the user.
- Administration is informed of information resources that are claimed to be returned but not found in their places. The user cannot utilize the borrowing services until the final decision of Administration.

Document Supply
- SU Retired Personnel may request documents that are not available in the collections of Information Center. Requests are made by filling out the Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loan (ILL) form over the web site.
- Processes are maintained in accordance with Document Supply Fees Document. Documents are delivered after the document fees are paid.
- Requests with incomplete bibliographic data are cancelled and reported.
